M a u r e e n C a r e y is an artist living in Vancouver, British Columbia. She has been a film industry professional since 1993 and before that worked in museum design and exhibit installation, interior design and fine arts research. She received her Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Visual Arts from the Emily Carr University of Art and Design and her Certificate of Fashion Design from Helen Lefeaux School of Fashion Design, winning awards for achievement and portfolio. Maureen's "leaf portraits" and "petal images" began as a seminar exercise and the successful and emotional response resulted in numerous press releases and exhibitions in a variety of galleries in the Pacific Northwest (CANADIAN CRAFT MUSEUM SHOP, CIRCLE CRAFT, MAISON V, LARSEN GALLERY, SQUAMISH FOYER GALLERY in British Columbia, FOUND OBJECTS in Seattle). In March of 2013 a number of pieces were installed at the VANCOUVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT'S departure lounge for the VANCOUVER ART GALLERY. Her work has appeared in a number of film, television and video productions. Maureen has been a contributing artist to ARTS UMBRELLA "SPLASH" events, to THE COMMONWEALTH COLLECTION, Government of British Columbia, and a juried Exhibitor for B.C. STYLE. She is included in "AMERICAN ARTISTS, An Illustrated Survey of Leading Contemporaries".
